Why Would You Want This Mower?
Example One. In 1998 I had 150 electrical substations in residential areas that were mowed on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. The lawns had to look nice but no one actually walked on them so there was very little need to worry about tracks or grooves left when the ground was soft. If this machine was available then it would have been my primary mower for mowing them. The properties totaled about 200 acres. One employee with this machine, an AcreEase wing mower and a string trimmer could easily have taken care of these properties.
Example Two. I had 25 properties where I was using a 3 man crew with a 72 inch Groundsmaster, a 48 inch walk-behind and a string trimmer. There were spots on those properties where the Groundsmaster was to big or the slopes were too steep to safely mow on. If I had a Wright Stander ZK I could have easily replaced the the mowers with one ZK. The mower is fast enough to replace the Groundmaster and agile enough to replace the walk-behind. Being a stand-on it has a much lower center of gravity than other mowers and can mow slopes you would normally use a walk-behind on.
Example Three. I had 5 properties along the Illinois river and one 10 acre earthen dam that were just too steep for any conventional rider. I was using a $35,000 Kut Kwick to mow these. I could easily replace the Kut Kwick with with the Wright Stander ZK mower to mow 5 of the 6 properties.
If you are currently using 72″ mowers and looking for a more flexible alternative you should seriously consider this mower. The ZK is a high production machine that will out mow most of the 72 inch riders. They are big (1200 lbs) fast (13 mph) rugged (years of service) and agile . Being a stand-on you can use this mower on many slopes where you wouldn’t dare take a conventional rider.

What I Like:
61 inches is the best all around size for mowing medium to large properties. I found that I 72 inch mowers tended to scalp too much and 52 inch mowers just don’t cut as well as the 61′s at high speeds.
I like the large motor and heavy weight of the machine. When mowing at high speeds, heavier machines like this one don’t bounce as much as the lighter units so the rider can use it for much longer periods of time without getting tired.
The operator platform position is neutral to the turning axis of the mower making this one of the most comfortable stand on mowers to use.
The Wright Stander ZK is powered correctly for the speed it will mow at and size of deck.
What I Would Like Changed:
I would really like to see the 40 hp Kohler available.
Warranty:
2-year Limited Warranty: Covers parts and labor
Summary & Where To Buy:
This mower is not for everyone. This machine is designed for high speed production mowing in thick heavy grass. I know it will work well on Midwestern Bluegrass in the spring.
I don’t have a specific dealer for you to buy Wright mowers from so I would suggest you go to Wright’s website and use the dealer locator to find the dealer nearest you. You can also look for this machine on the BigMowers Store. (The link is to your right)
When you get you own ZK be sure and come back here to let us know how well you like it.
